Chef Carlos Leyva introduces the next phase for gourmet Japanese restaurant Hiroshi of Hotel Mousai, where he has put his innovative skills to the test, reconstructing the menu to contain the menu favorites the restaurant is known for plus an exciting collection of new dishes for an updated and thoroughly modern way to experience Japanese cuisine.

We have added an even greater variety of flavors, building on our previous menu,” reveals Chef Carlos Leyva “responding to the comments and preferences of our clients as well as reflecting the latests trends in fine Japanese cuisine.”

Omakase

The release of Hiroshi’s new menu came into force following Omakase, the gourmet culinary festival that took place during June at Hotel Mousai.  The festival featured four outstanding guest chefs, each visiting from a revered sushi restaurant in the United States, during which time they created a special menu for diners each Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in June.   The Omakase festival was named after the unique dining custom featured at Japanese restaurants in which diners allow the chef to design their entire dining experience, leaving their orders up to the chef. Hiroshi’s new menu will continue to embrace this concept and offer an Omakase option throughout the year, with the chef choosing a meal which will include 5 courses.

The refreshed menu at Hiroshi contains an array of new sushi rolls including more vegetarian options like the Yasai with creamy tofu, mango, coriander, carrot and avocado and the Veggie Maki with beet, cucumber, avocado, cilantro and carrot.

Sashimi

There is a larger selection of sashimi available, with more fresh fish and meat options including salmon, tuna, hamachi, catch of the day and scallops.  The enticing new sauces served with these dishes take them to a whole new level of delicious.

Hot Choices

Not to be outdone, the updated menu includes some new hot dishes such as the seafood Udon Soup, Dynamite Scallops with spicy cream sauce and Sauteed Crab with serrano pepper, watermelon, seaweed and eel sauce.

Signature Dishes

Not surprisingly, an outstanding place to begin the search for your meal remains Hiroshi’s Signature Dishes, with exceptional dishes including the Shiitake Salmon with risotto and the Aji Kobe medallions served in aji panca amarillito sauce.  The spectacular Crispy Wrap, which is a shrimp and chicken filled involtini served in bonito broth, is among the highest recommendations from Hiroshi’s Signature Dishes.

As Chef Leyva was mapping out Hiroshi’s revamped menu, he made sure to retain menu items that have been long-held favorites including the Mexican Roll, Miso Soup, Nigiris, Edamame and Seafood and Vegetable Dumplings.  Providing a splendid fusion of menu options, you can still delight in the familiar Japanese delicacies you crave while giving your taste buds a tantalizing experience with new dishes, too.
