Puerto Vallarta is preparing to host the city’s 23rd International Gourmet Festival, which will be taking place from November 10th through November 19th, 2017 this year. Garza Blanca Resort & Spa and Hotel Mousai are thrilled to once more be participating in this prestigious event along with several other restaurants and hotels in the Puerto Vallarta region including neighboring Riviera Nayarit and Tepic. This 10-day celebration of the area’s culinary excellence is one of the most sought-after activities for visiting and local foodies alike.
Special Guest Chefs for the Festival
The head chefs of the restaurants at Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Blanca Blue (Mario Castro) and BocaDos STK (Alvaro Cortez) as well as Hiroshi at Hotel Mousai (Chef Carlos Leyva) will welcome three renowned guest chefs for the festival. Alexander Branch, Chef Victor Padua and Chef Oscar Gonzalez will be joining the team on-site at the Garza Blanca Preserve to lend their culinary expertise and design signature menus to be served at each restaurant during the special event. The specialized menus will feature multiple courses that can be ordered alongside the regular menu choices available at each gourmet eatery on the property. The scrumptious dishes on offer from November 11th through November 19th are sure to delight the palate of each attendee!
Foodies Paradise – A Delectable Feast
In addition to the mouthwatering menus that will be available at the gourmet restaurants around the property, the resort will be holding a special event on November 12th at 5:30pm to tie in with the Puerto Vallarta Gourmet Festival. Seven accomplished chefs will be on hand to host seven serving stations that are set up right on the beach for a remarkable sunset celebration of gourmet cuisine. This fun experience will treat guests to delicious cuisine, phenomenal drinks and live music in a festive atmosphere. Delectable foods will range from juicy choice meats and mouthwatering Japanese and East Asian bites to fresh and innovative Mexican flavors. Beverages including fine wines, sake and traditional Mexican favorites mezcal and tequila will be available to sip on, and those who enjoy a little something sweet will not be forgotten, either. Indulge your taste buds by attending this unique and pleasurable dining experience!
The Gourmet Festival’s History
This annual gourmet festival was established in 1995 by culinary visionaries Chef Thierry Blouet and Chef Heinz Reize (with Chef Roland Menetrey becoming an honorary founder in 2000) as a way to draw greater attention to the flourishing culinary scene in Puerto Vallarta. The gourmet offerings in the region have grown immensely in the years since the festival began, drawing foodies from around the world who enjoy taking a vacation in the delightful, culinarily progressive destination. Over the years, the International Gourmet Festival has impressed the palates of nearly half a million attendees, thanks to the extraordinary skills and talent of the featured guest chefs, several of whom have coveted Michelin stars.
The Puerto Vallarta Gourmet Festival presents a great opportunity to sample some of the city’s most outstanding cuisine, so be sure and book a vacation in November to take advantage of everything the festival has to offer.
