Any well-travelled foodie would be ecstatic with the selection of cuisine and gourmet dining that is on offer in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and there is, arguably, no better time to visit for a divine food journey than in May. The last two weeks in May each year is when the Vallarta Lifestyle Restaurant Week is held in the city. Restaurant Week is a two week culinary event that was first held in 2005, and the aim of this festival is to bring to light the amazing diversity and quality of fine dining options in Puerto Vallarta.
Why Foodies Love Puerto Vallarta in May
The idea of Vallarta Lifestyles Restaurant week is for participating restaurants to create a tailored three-course menu which they feel represents the flavor of their establishment. This menu will include a varied selection of soups, salads, appetizers, main meals and desserts and is offered at a discounted set price per head. For 2016, the two tiered price range for Restaurant Week menus in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit will be $229 or $349, which works out at a staggeringly low 12 to 17 dollars considering current exchange rates. The restaurants will also, of course, still offer their main menu to those who wish to order from it. You can just turn up at participating restaurants and ask for their Restaurant Week menu, but for the more popular establishments, or bigger tables, it is recommended to book in advance.
There are literally dozens of new dishes and experiences waiting for you during the Restaurant Week in Puerto Vallarta, and you can be sure there’s a table for all occasions. So whether you’re dining with a large group of friends, a small gathering of family members or just one special someone, book your flights for Puerto Vallarta between May 15th to 31st and enjoy a culinary journey for less. You won’t be disappointed by what the city has to offer!
Restaurant Week offers something new and exciting every single year to newcomers and old friends alike!
